I called about five different tile contractors to redo our shower. 2 never answered their phones or returned my calls. 2 took my information and photos, then ghosted me. Only Rob (Tessera Contracting) seemed interested in my business.

Unlike about every contractor I’ve dealt with, the communication was there from start to finish. Before he started, we worked up a schedule in the form of a calendar so I knew every day that he’d be working on my contract. The job started as scheduled and finished as scheduled. He even followed up two or three times after the fact for quality control and also the check the status of the shower door (different contractor).

Overall, probably the best “dealing with a contractor” experience I’ve had.

The quality of the work is excellent too - markedly superior to the tile walk in shower we had done some years ago in our master bath.

Robert with Tessera Contracting just finished our whole house floor tile. It came out great and working with Robert was easy. I voiced my concerns about damaging the hydronic heating pipes in the warmboard floor heating system and he went the extra mile to get them safely covered and protected while taking care not to puncture them.

We were so happy with how the tile floor came out, that he is doing the master shower now.

I hope Tessera Contracting will have time on the calendar to do our backsplashes when we finally get the cabinets installed.

Update:
Robert came back out and installed our backsplash. We had asked him to make the top edge look like the flowers were rolling down a hill rather than straight edges where we had to go below a window. He nailed it! My wife was not here when he got to grouting and he did a video chat to make sure she got what she wanted.

He also did an excellent job installing large 2' x 4' tiles in our master shower.

Tessera Contracting was recommended by one of my building contractors. After getting several estimates I choose Rob to do the shower tile for my one-and-only bathroom. The job required someone with technical prowess for several kinds of tile, including glass block as well as an artistic sense to help me realize my vision. Rob did a marvelous job and exceeded my expectations with the creation of my "fishy" nature shower! Big mahalo, it's really perfect.
